What Does the following MRI Scan Result Mean?

I recently had a lower extremity MRI done and when I received the medical records I saw that at the bottom of his transcription he said "Incidently there is a borderline 1.6 cm lymph node along the left external iliac vessels noted." The Dr. didn't mention this during the appt. I had been having severe hip pain for 11 months that no Dr could diagnose. I went to the Mayo where I was diagnosed with stage IV Avascular Necrosis in my left hip and stage II in my right. The incidental findings were noted On the transcription from this appt. Curious as my Post op follow up is not until Sept 3rd I did some research and kept finding cancer. Also the articles stated that a measurement of 1.6 cm (other related articles said 1 cm) or greater was diagnosed and treated as malignant. I am a 30 yr old female who just had a left total hip replacement. There are several enlarged nodes in my groin. Apparently this is the largest. They are visibly noticable outwardly and are red. They've been there aprox 10-12 months. No fever or severe pain in groin. They are uncomfortable, and the largest are moderately painful at times. What is the likelyhood this is cancer? Also, should I wait until my Sept 3rd appt to discuss or should I go to a Dr immediately?

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The lymph nodal enlargement is seen in case of any infection / inflammation , it can be localised or systemic.
2.And also seen in presence of malignancy and lymph nodal pathology itself.
3.In your case there is a cause just had left hip issues and got operated.
4.However confirmation need to be done by a FNAC - fine needle aspiration cytology, an a CT to see any intra-abdominal, lymph nodes and any primary.
5.In that way one can evaluate the cause, but i feel as the AVN is the cause for the above lymph nodal enlargement. Good luck.

Hope i have answered your query.
